year 2 – experimental 3d – combining 2d and 3d imagery – LOOK and FEEL

ht-600-1.jpg

there’s a range of new resources for both inspiration AND use in your own work available in the kcda resource folder (001) > marks2d3dResources

we will go through some of these, including how and why to use them in the lesson – also look for free good quality stock vectors and bitmap files you can use within your work too

if you need reminding of how / why then check out serving_Phour in the folder, look at the SPOV black ops reel from onedotzero (in an earlier post on kcda) and more – if you have examples of 2d/3d combination you want to share then do so in the comments to this post

two I would like you to look at are media militia and vecteezy

at the end of todays session I would like at least 3 still images that are combining 2d and 3d imagery in this way – they should also include SOME text used in a decorative way

SPECIFICATION of IMAGES
final output should be hires – suitable to print at 300 dpi at A1 – this means 7015 x 9933 pixels
be sure you have sufficient resolution in the c4d renders and images you use

once you have the render you can then open in photoshop for composing with further 2d elements and post processing

save the originals then save for web in PS post to your blog and email me the set BEFORE sunday 5pm
if you have not done the exercise from last week for they’re coming I need that too please

these exercises are require elements of the reflective journal – we’ll have a mini crit on them in next week’s session

  1. If I remember correctly, Nick taught us that you cannot FEEL art. Does this mean we can slack off a bit?
